Dr. Hassan Zuhair Al Garni: (IEEE Member) is an Energy Expert and Associate Professor of the Electrical Engineering Department at Jubail Industrial College-Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. He has a diverse experience between industry, research and academia for 23 years. He obtained his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering and Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Concordia University in Canada in 2018 and 2013 respectively. He has been listed in the “Top 2%” Scientist in Stanford University ranking list for single year citation published by Elsevier for 2024 and 2025. He served many administration positions at Jubail Industrial College including Chairman of Electrical Engineering Department and the College Deputy for Planning and Development. He published many research articles and conference proceedings in high-ranked and prestigious journals in the area of renewable energy. His employment experience includes working in Instrumentation and Control at SABIC for five years and teaching at Jubail Industrial College for 18 years. His research interests are in the areas of energy including Hybrid Microgrid systems, solar photovoltaic planning, design and optimization. He was awarded the Concordia Accelerator Award (2018), Concordia University Conference and Exposition Award (2017- 2018) and KAPSARC Arabic language award (2025).
